Music from another time

I’m having a weekend rediscovering and enjoying some great music by very talented Nigerian acts from way back. I’m talking about K’ore Kenny and Nosa. I just wonder how I forgot these guys so easily. Life’s happened, happening…

Well, now that they’ve surfaced, K’ore, from an old archive on an old hard drive I just plunked into an enclosure, and Nosa, I’m sharing them here with anyone who’d enjoy them with me. I’m also recording this blog here as a milestone.

Distance indeed refines perspective.

Now that I’m far from home, I have a better, keener appreciation for Nigerian music. But it’s not just physical distance that’s modulating my perspective, it’s also the passage of time in memory. Nostalgia.

I might argue that this delta in distance and time is related. You cannot move in physical distance without affecting memory.

Clunky philosophizing.
